Outreach Program:
At Anderson Robotics our presence in the public is extremely important. We strive to help educate other students about Robotics and how it can be a positive influence in thier lives. Below is a list of the things we have done this year as part of our public outreach campaign.
Created and hosted the 2008 "Robot Roundup" in which 5 FIRST teams participated
BAE Systems, and National Instruments were invited to Austin Robot Round Up
Visited vertical team schools to demonstrate current and past robots
Sent press releases about Austin Robot Roundup and put on community calendars for 12 newspapers and news stations
mentors talked about Murchison FLL and Anderson FRC at choice sheet night (2800 students)
mentor & students presented robot and Austin Robot Round-Up info to AISD Board of Trustees
July 19, 2007 went to TX Career Education Conference in San Antonio TX, 15 members demoed robot to 200 teachers and provided info about FIRST and ausTIN CANs
Nov. 17, 2007 teacher sponsor held conference session on Robotics Curriculum at the CAST Convention in Austin TX. 24 teachers attended and got a 5000 page resource CD
